About Fourteen Feathers

Who we are, what the name means, and what each business does.

Why "Fourteen Feathers"

The name comes from Cristal's heritage. She is an enrolled member of the Yakama Nation, and the fourteen feathers on the Yakama Nation flag honor the fourteen original tribes and bands who signed the Treaty of 1855, many communities choosing to stand together. That idea guides how we work: small businesses and community organizations do better when someone stands with them.

The name honors Cristal's heritage. It does not imply that the Yakama Nation endorses or is affiliated with our businesses.

Who we are

Two people, not a faceless brand

Brandon Allen

Brandon Allen

Brandon builds and runs the systems behind each business: the bookkeeping practice, the products, the operations, the tools that keep client work consistent. He's a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, and he turns messy, complicated processes into something a real person can follow.

Cristal Finley

Cristal Finley

Cristal spent fifteen years evaluating funding requests and reading business finances, and she holds an MBA. Today she leads the nonprofit practice and shapes the funding preparation work: what a strong request looks like, what gets asked, and how to be ready for it. She is treasurer of NAYA (the Native American Youth and Family Center), past president of RMA Portland, and a board member of Confluence.

We cover the whole picture between us. One of us keeps the records and systems solid; the other knows how those records get read when money is on the line.
